My research background is in ecology and evolutionary biology focusing on life history strategies, specifically reproductive patterns of turtles. I also participate in the Indiana Department of Natural Resources program of locating and identifying frog populations in south-central Indiana. Most recently, I have been working with the Morgan and Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation Districts on a watershed quality project. I am also interested in educational research, especially topics dealing with development and expansion of student learning styles, skills, and sophistication. I am currently a member of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) Curriculum and Instruction Committee working on standardized Anatomy and Physiology Learning Outcomes.
