Learn through hands-on experience
In earth sciences, research is not limited to the laboratory or classroom. We encourage you to pursue learning opportunities in the field.
Students who participate in undergraduate research could receive financial support and an opportunity to work directly with world-renowned faculty as early as the freshman year.
Undergraduate Research
As an undergraduate student, you’ll typically present your research by giving an oral presentation or displaying a scientific poster at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, North-Central Geological Society of America meeting, or meetings of Indiana University researchers, professional geologists, or environmental consultants and regulators.
