We are home to departments and programs representing many different aspects of the science world.

Crime buffs can earn a degree in forensics in the state’s only accredited forensic science program. Eco warriers can work toward a degree in environmental science. Future medical researchers can choose from a wide variety of majors—and put what they learn to work in one of our research labs. 

No matter which program you choose, you can count on every member of our faculty to support you in any way they can.

Striving for diversity in all that we do

We are well aware that STEM fields have not always been welcoming places for women and minorities. To correct that, we make a conscious effort to cultivate every kind of diversity in our school.

We have put a number of initiatives in place to encourage historically underrepresented people to pursue a degree in science, starting with STEM education programs in our community’s schools, community-building programs for incoming students, and support for our faculty and staff.

Making breakthroughs that change the world

Many of our faculty are engaged in cutting-edge research in a wide variety of fields. In fact, we secured more than $20 million in funding in 2022–23.

And whether their work centers on genetics, forensics, or physics, they welcome our students into their labs—inspiring the next generation of researchers.
