What is Brain Bee?

Hosted by the IU Indianapolis School of Science and the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute, the Indianapolis Brain Bee is an annual event aiming to motivate high school students to learn about the brain and inspire the pursuit of careers in neuroscience research.

The Neuroscience Program—in partnership with the Deparment of Psychology and Department of Biology—sponsors the Brain Bee as part of the School of Science’s commitment to advancing scientific minds and fostering community interest in the sciences.

Open to students in grades 9–12, contestants in this spelling bee–style event answer questions about the brain and nervous system until a single student remains.

Prizes include a trip to the National Brain Bee and a scholarship to the IU Indianapolis School of Science.
