Are you a high school teacher? Let your students know about this event!
Hosted by the IU Indianapolis School of Science and the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute, the Indianapolis Brain Bee is an annual event aiming to motivate high school students to learn about the brain and inspire the pursuit of careers in neuroscience research.
The Neuroscience Program—in partnership with the Deparment of Psychology and Department of Biology—sponsors the Brain Bee as part of the School of Science’s commitment to advancing scientific minds and fostering community interest in the sciences.
Open to students in grades 9–12, contestants in this spelling bee–style event answer questions about the brain and nervous system until a single student remains.
Prizes include a trip to the National Brain Bee and a scholarship to the IU Indianapolis School of Science.
Prepare for the Brain Bee by studying Brain Facts, which is published by the Society for Neuroscience.
You can also study sample questions available on the National Brain Bee website.
We will host three study sessions. Each session will review a different set of chapters from the Brain Facts book. We encourage you to attend all three sessions.
You will receive the Zoom link and passcode via email after you register. If you have any questions about the study sessions, email Rene Baugh at rlbaugh@iu.edu.
