We offer many of our graduate students teaching assistantships, which require you to hold office hours and grade assignments. No separate application is considered for these positions, as you’ll be automatically considered during the admissions process.
You can also work as a research assistant for faculty members. These positions are funded by faculty and are typically awarded after your first year. If you’re interested in a research assistantship, you’ll need to apply on an individual basis.
Students are automatically considered by the department for these awards if eligible. No separate application is required.

The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology pays the majority of your tuition in the form of fee remission.
Current state law requires you to pay a percentage per credit hour with fee concessions. In addition, you are responsible for mandatory fees such as student activity fees, recreation costs, parking, etc.
Fee remission is applicable only to those courses that meet the requirements of the degree program or that may be included on a Plan of Study. No remedial courses (below 500) will be supported through fee remission. Please speak to the Graduate Administrator for the most current tuition and fee rates, and/or calculate your costs.
