Description:: This course introduces essential theoretical background of computational chemistry. Molecular modeling tasks are used to solve chemical problems. Contents include molecular visualization, molecular mechanics, molecular orbital/density functional theory, geometry optimization, transition state theory, molecular dynamics, combined quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical (QM/MM) approach, structure-activity relationships, basic docking and introductory sequence alignment techniques.
