Apply to join us at the School of Science

If you’re ready to be challenged, to dive in deep to scientific topics, and to grow in ways you never thought possible, you’re ready to apply to become a School of Science student.

You’ll start the admissions process by completing the IU Indianapolis online application for your academic level.

How to apply for undergraduate admission to the School of Science

There are two ways to become a student in the School of Science.

  1. Direct admission as a beginning or transfer student
  2. Admission through University College after completing requirements

To be considered for direct admission, indicate your interest in one of our majors on the online application. We will automatically consider you for direct admit status if you meet the requirements.

Freshman and transfer students who are not eligible for direct admission to the School of Science will be admitted to the IU Indianapolis University College STEM cluster as pre-science students. You will complete the same course of study as directly admitted students. Once you have completed the requirements you can apply to the School of Science as an internal applicant.

Pathway to Medicine: direct admission to medical school

Starting in the fall of 2024, the Bachelor's to MD (B/MD) pathway program will provide a direct path to admission at the IU School of Medicine for eligible first-year students directly admitted to the School of Science.
