The PEARC-2017 Conference (Practice & Experience in Advanced Research Computing) wrapped up successfully in New Orleans on Thursday, July 13. At the awards luncheon, IUPUI Ph.D. student, Feng Li, won the Best Student Paper Award. Feng's research paper, co-authored by IUPUI Professor, Dr. Fengguang Song, presents a scalable computational framework to enable real-time machine learning on large-scale scientific simulations. This work demonstrates the prime advantages of combining high performance computing with advanced big data analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, deep learning.)
Sponsored by ACM SIGAPP, PEARC is a major conference for researchers and developers who care about the challenges in using and operating advanced research computing. The theme of this year's conference was Sustainability, Success and Impact.
