INDIANAPOLIS -- Patel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on neuroscience from the IUPUI School of Science. She completed her doctoral degree in the Medical Neuroscience Graduate Program at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) under the guidance of Theodore Cummins, Ph.D.
“Reesha was a terrific graduate student, excelling both in graduate courses and in the lab,” Cummins, who is now chair of the IUPUI School of Science Department of Biology, said. “She has a wickedly dry sense of humor that kept me on my toes. She also opened my eyes to the great students coming through the School of Science.”
While at the IUSM, Patel was awarded the Larry Kays Fellowship and published part of her doctoral thesis in the prestigious journal Brain. She is now completing postdoctoral research in San Diego.
