Ian Marrs, a geology graduate student in the School of Science at IUPUI, has been accepted into the 2021 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP). Marrs is the only IUPUI student to receive this prestigious research award.
The NSF GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited institutions. The five-year fellowship includes three years of financial support including tuition and a stipend.
The fellowship will cover Marrs’ research on meteor impacts, which is done in collaboration with his faculty advisor, Catherine Macris, PhD.
