Discover Science

As a student in the School of Science at IU Indianapolis, you’ll join a community that understands (and celebrates) geeking out over solving a complicated chemistry problem or learning the latest computer language.

This is where you’ll find your voice as part of an academically focused school that pushes you to contribute to real research and serve your community and world.

Join a club where you’re suddenly a part of a small family of like-minded students who can help you navigate that tough math course, tell you how to get a coveted internship downtown or spend a Saturday with you getting fifth graders excited about STEM.

Committed to having real impact in their work and community, our graduates emerge from the School of Science as well-rounded scientists whose experiences have prepared them to solve the problems of the future.

"Knowing I could do research right when I started college was a huge plus."

Monica Witcher, a biology and neuroscience graduate, documented the behaviors of long-tailed macaques at the Indianapolis Zoo as part of her capstone research project.

Are you an out-of-state student?

IU Indianapolis provides residents of Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin or Puerto Rico tuition at a 57% reduction of the out-of-state rate. What does this mean for you? If you qualify for either the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) Award, or live in an Indiana Partner state, the cost of IU Indianapolis tuition would be closer to the current in-state student rate.
