Make your way through the door into the SL/LD lobby. There are stairs on your right and elevators on your left. Take either to the third floor. Once at the top, you will see a student lounge on the side of the building, where students gather to study, eat lunch and socialize. Looking out the other window you can see the majority of campus with the bell tower marking the Campus Center. This is the only location where you can see the entire main hub of campus.
Enter the SL building to your right when looking at the campus view (same side as the elevators.) Go through the double doors and turn left and follow the hallway. Your first stop will be the Biology Academic office (Room LD 306). There is a display for the Biology Club outside of the office on the left and a series of academic publications by Biology faculty on the right. Continue to the end of the hall and you will see a poster for PREPs. PREPs is the Pre-Professional and Career Advising Office for science students and alumni located in Hine Hall. PREPs provides free career resources and pre-professional advising for science students only, so whether you are on a pre-professional track, such as pre-med or planning on heading straight to the workforce upon graduation, you will find their services invaluable.
Take a right at the PREPs poster and continue down to the end of the hallway. Along the hallway, you will see many doors, which are research labs and staff/faculty offices. Take a few moments to read some of the research posters on the walls. Once you reach the end of the hall, we recommend you take the stairs down two levels to the 1st floor street exit. (If you need to take the elevator, keep walking around the floor back to the double doors that lead to the elevator. Take it to the 1st floor and then continue right on the first floor until you reach the exit to the street.) Head out the north door and you will be at the intersection of Michigan/Blackford Streets.
