The Han Paik Mentoring Award is given in honor of long-time physics faculty member, Dr. Han Won Paik. Dr. Paik joined the faculty of Purdue University in Indianapolis in 1962. He was a devoted teacher of physics throughout his career, and after his retirement in 1993, Dr. Paik continued to mentor students in physics on a volunteer basis. This award is given to a physics major or minor who has shown a commitment to mentoring other students in physics.

Dr. Stewart was an accomplished Research Scientist and later Senior Lecturer in Psychology from 1995-2020. As a scientist, Rob mentored many students in research. As an instructor, Rob made important contributions to the undergraduate teaching mission of Psychology. The Rob Stewart Memorial Scholarship not only celebrates Rob’s many contributions to teaching and mentoring, but also marks the considerable debt of gratitude that Rob’s students and colleagues owe him even today. This award is given to an accomplished first-generation Psychology major in their junior or senior year.
