Our research continues to focus on metals in biological systems in relation to human health and the environment. Specifically, we are focused on molybdenum enzymes that play important roles in nitrogen, arsenic and sulfur metabolism. We are excited about our science, and fostering a lab environment that provides a positive and rewarding learning experience.
Basu’s research is in the exciting field of bioinorganic chemistry, which has been supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF). Basu holds five patents and has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. His research has been cited ~5700 times. He has mentored 75 research students of all levels and with varied background.
