Urban Ecology: The Intersection Between Humans and Nature in Cities (Live)
This program is for first-year university students that are Biology Majors looking for employment that is on campus and flexible around class schedules. Research shows that working 10-20 hours a week can help students better budget their time. However, working more than 20 hours is often detrimental to a student’s studies.
We are looking for students who are willing to work at least 10 hours a week in 2 blocks of time. Pay for 2021 is 12.50/hour. Most of the work involves making solutions, stocking, animal care (some positions), helping with small projects. Students are placed in research OR prep labs (preparing for experiments done in our undergraduate teaching labs).
The hiring is done in a first-come-first-served process and takes place from June to September of the year, until all positions are filled. The number of positions is around 30/year and depends on the needs of the department. The demand for these positions is usually higher than the number of positions available.
