Department of Mathematical Sciences faculty member Leonid Rubchinsky has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Organization for Computational Neuroscience (OCNS). Rubchinsky is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Rubchinsky is an applied mathematician and neuroscientist who has extensively studied the neurophysiology of Parkinson’s disease.
OCNS is a professional organization that's purpose is to " create a scientific and educational forum for students, scientists, other professionals and the general public to learn about, to share, to contribute to, and to advance the state of knowledge in computational neuroscience." Rubchinsky is one 20 elected and ex officio members of the board.
